A said poem: after William Carlos Williamsby Jennifer BishopI have devouredthe plums that were in the refrigerator even though you never thought I would. You were probably saving them for breakfast, but I don't care. You have just asked me to get out of your appartment, but I am not in too much of a hurry. Forgive me, the plums were delicious, so sweet and juicy, but I had to eat them because you were driving me crazy. Too bad you couldn't have any, but that really isn't possible now because they are all gone. © Jennifer Bishop October 21, 2002 |
